"Any moment might be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again."

It's an epic for a reason.
As Homer with his powerful imagination and vision conjures the songful Muses, he tells forth the story, the myth of Achilles and Troy.
I've read the translation by Samuel Butler and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The plot rotates around the end times during the siege of Troy by the Achaeans and the dispute between King Agamemnon and famed Achilles, son of Peleus.
While reading The Iliad I actually realized that the popular movie TROY (yes starring Brad Pitt as Achilles) is an adaptation from The Iliad, we all know the story.
Paris elopes with Helen which enrages Menelaus and he with King Agamemnon wage war over Troy.
Well, no more spoilers but if you're a true literature lover, there is absolutely no way you should miss this. It's a delight.
Thank you for reading.
